Here's how to watch a Scotland vs England live stream, as the Auld Enemies meet once more

The Scots first welcomed the 'Auld Enemy' to the West of Scotland Cricket Club in 1872, with 4,000 fans watching as international football was born with a 0-0 draw.

10 Interesting Facts About Earth's Oceans

Tonight’s contest is the first friendly between the two rivals in almost nine years, which England won at Celtic Park, but there have been three competitive meetings between them since - the last two of which have been draws.

The last match was a tepid stalemate at Wembley during the group stage of Euro 2020, while the previous clash in Glasgow in 2017 saw Harry Kane net a last-gasp equaliser to save England’s blushes following a Leigh Griffiths late show in a dramatic World Cup qualifier.

Both sides are on the brink of reaching Euro 2024 and will put their respective successful qualifying campaigns to one side in a high-profile showdown that will be a friendly in name only.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Scotland vs England is scheduled for a 7:45pm BST kick-off today, Tuesday September 12, 2023.

The match will take place at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Scotland have been in flying form under Steve Clarke, making it five straight wins in Cyprus on Friday, and will surely want to keep that going with another victory against England. Kieran Tierney, Andy Robertson, Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour should all play.

For England, Gareth Southgate may want to tweak things with the Three Lions were fairly lifeless against Ukraine in Saturday’s 1-1 draw in Wroclaw. The likes of Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire could do with being stood down, giving the likes of Levi Colwill and Phil Foden a chance to shine.

Aaron Ramsdale, Callum Wilson and Eberechi Eze will all be hoping for minutes after failing to get off the bench in Poland.

Scotland vs England prediction

Scotland have more than enough about them to claim a win in front of their home fans, especially considering how half-baked England looked at the weekend.

England had to rely on some inspiration from Kane to claim a point against Ukraine, so Southgate could do with more spark in midfield to make a real game of it.

It's never just a friendly between Scotland and England.

150 years ago, the two sides met for the very first international match and things have been heated ever since. The two are the oldest enemies in the game, with this commemorative match between the pair seeing hostilities renewed.

And here's something you don't see very often: the Scots might actually be the favourites, heading into this one in much better form. Scotland have won their last five, while England looked utterly toothless against Ukraine at the weekend.

This game may be designated a friendly, but it never is when these two sides play each other. Expect a raucous and intimidating atmosphere at Hampden Park today as Scotland take on England in this international exhibition football fixture.

England were poor in their Euro qualifier against Ukraine on Saturday. It needed a moment of brilliance from skipper Harry Kane and Kyle Walker to cancel out Oleksandr Zinchenko’s opener. The 1-1 draw means England no longer have a 100% record in their qualifying campaign, adding to the scrutiny manager Gareth Southgate currently faces over his squad selection.

Scotland easily saw off Cyprus in their latest Euro qualifier, winning 0-3. The goals came from Ryan Porteous, John McGinn and Scott McTominey. The Manchester United midfielder has scored six goals this qualifying campaign. He sits on top of the scoring charts with Romelu Lukaku and Rasmus Hojlund. The Tartan Army are now unbeaten in 8 competitive matches, a run that includes notable victories over Spain and Norway.

We may well see some changes to both lineups today, as the managers use a friendly game to give fringe players an opportunity. However, both Southgate and his opposite number Steve Clarke will be desperate to claim a win in a match that means so much to the fans.
